In Wyoming we represent an outfitter that has exclusive hunting rights on two ranches in the north central part of the state offering excellent hunting for both whitetail and mule deer as well as pronghorn antelope.
The ranch in Gillette, WY is 50,000 acres of very typical pronghorn habitat being almost all open sagebrush country. The outfitter hunts this country with care and a client will see hundreds or undisturbed antelope each day. Multiple shot opportunities are the norm and even the novice or physically challenged hunter should have a very successful hunt here. The outfitter is an experienced archer and opens the season in August with bow only hunts running through Sept. In October he takes a few rifle hunters offering a perfect opportunity for a primitive weapons hunt as getting close is not a problem. While hunting antelope you should expect a good mature buck of around 14″ and two does that are available to each hunter during this 3 day hunt.
In Kaycee, WY our outfitter offers a completely different experience on a 10,000 acre working cattle ranch. The terrain is quite varied with cotton wood covered creek bottoms alive with whitetails plus rocky hills with cedars interspersed with sage flats. The higher country is good mule deer habitat and the sage flats offer antelope and sometimes some very good ones. Here a combination deer/antelope hunt work perfectly as you can hunt the deer during their peek feeding times early morning/evening and antelope all during the day. Here you could expect a whitetail buck of 120 B&C-150 B&C with larger possible. Muleys should be 160 B&C-175 B&C. Antelope will average about 14 ” but some much bigger ones have been taken. This hunt is offered the last two weeks of October.
Hunts on both ranches requires a hunter to apply for the Wyoming draw but it is only a formality and a hunter will get a license.
